Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use OnDevice Tools, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We check every page with automated accessibility tests, with a keyboard only, and on phone, tablet and desktop screen sizes. We are still working towards full testing with screen readers.
What we do
- Our colours are chosen so that text has a contrast of at least 4.5:1 in both the light and the dark theme.
- Every control works with a keyboard and has a visible focus ring. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing on each page.
- Files can be added with a button, not only by drag and drop. Files can be reordered with buttons or with Alt and the arrow keys, not only by dragging.
- Changes such as "3 files added" or "file removed" are announced to screen readers.
- Standalone controls and navigation targets on touch screens are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
- Reduced motion turns off moving decorations and automatic scrolling. Higher-contrast settings give controls stronger borders.
- Pages use clear headings, plain English and short sentences.
Known limits
- Very large files can take a while to process on older devices. Progress is shown for each file.
