Why use WebP?
WebP files are often noticeably smaller than JPG at the same visual quality, so web pages load faster. All modern browsers can show WebP, which makes it a good choice for websites, online shops and blogs.
A quality of 75–85% looks the same as the original for most photos.
Before you convert
Some older apps and email programs cannot open WebP. Keep your original JPGs, and use WebP where you control how images are shown, such as your own website. Note: Safari cannot save WebP files, so use Chrome, Edge or Firefox for this tool.

Are my files uploaded?
No. The tool runs inside your browser, so your photos are opened and processed on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
How much smaller is WebP?
It depends on the photo. WebP is often clearly smaller than JPG at a similar quality; the result row shows the exact sizes.
Why does it not work in Safari?
Safari can show WebP images but cannot create them. Please use Chrome, Edge or Firefox for this tool.
Does it remove location data?
Yes. The WebP is saved without GPS position or other hidden photo details.
Is it free?
