How it works
PDFs do not store text like a word processor, so changing it in place is hard. This tool covers the old words with white and writes your new words on top, in the size and colour you choose.
On coloured backgrounds or scans, the white box can show. For those, a full PDF editor or the original document works better.
Private
Your file is processed inside your browser with pdf-lib. Everything you add stays in your browser until you download the result. It is never uploaded, and nothing is saved after you close the page.

Are my files uploaded?
No. The tool runs inside your browser, so your files are opened and changed on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
Is the old text gone?
It is covered, not deleted: it may still be found by searching. Use Redact PDF to remove words for good.
Is it free?
