    How it works

    1. Paste a URL or text

Paste a link, a query string or any text. Nothing you paste leaves your device.

    2. Encode or decode

Encode turns spaces and special characters into %20-style codes; Decode turns them back.

    3. Check the parts and copy

For full URLs you also see the address split into its parts and query values. Copy the result.

    When to encode a URL

URLs can only contain certain characters. Spaces, accented letters and symbols like & or # must be written as percent codes, such as %20 for a space. Encode a part of a URL, like a search word or a value in a query string, so it cannot break the link.

Choose "A whole URL" to encode a complete link but keep its structure (the :, /, ?, & and = characters) as it is.

    Read messy links

Decode makes long tracking links and encoded text readable again. When the input is a full URL, the tool also lists its parts (protocol, host, path, fragment) and every query parameter, decoded, in a table.

    Questions

Is anything sent to a server?

No. Encoding and decoding happen in your browser, and the tool never opens the links you paste.

What is the difference between %20 and +?

Both can mean a space. %20 works everywhere in a URL; + means a space only in query strings from web forms.

    Why does decoding fail?

A % must be followed by two hexadecimal characters, like %3F. A lonely % or a cut-off code cannot be decoded.
