Privacy policy
The short version: your files never leave your device, and we do not track you.
This policy explains what data OnDevice Tools ("we") handles when you use this website and its tools. We have tried to write it in plain English.
Your files
Our tools run inside your web browser. When you add a file, your browser opens it on your device, converts it there and saves the result on your device. Your files, their names and their contents are never sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see, store, share or delete them, because they never reach us.
The website has no upload feature, and it sends a Content Security Policy that tells your browser to block any attempt to send data to another website.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use cookies. We do not use analytics, advertising, social media plug-ins, fingerprinting or any other tracking. Fonts, icons and scripts are served from our own domain, so no third-party service learns that you visited.
What your browser stores
If you choose a light or dark theme, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage on your device. If you turn on “Remember recent tools” in search, it also remembers the names of up to eight tools you visit, without file names or contents. “Clear & turn off” removes that history and stops saving it. To work offline, your browser also saves a copy of our own pages and files (not your files) in its cache. None of this is sent to us, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings. While you use a tool, your files and results are kept in your browser's memory and are cleared when you close the tab.
Hosting and server data
The website is hosted by Railway. Like any website, when your browser asks for a page, the request passes through our hosting provider's network. To deliver the page and protect the service, the provider handles technical data such as your IP address, the page you requested, the time and your browser type, and may keep it in its own logs for a limited time. See the Railway privacy policy.
Our own web server is set up to keep no access logs. We do not use this technical data to identify or track you. Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, the legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
If you email us
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply to you, and we delete them when they are no longer needed. We never share them for marketing.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we do not collect your files and do not track you, in most cases we hold no personal data about you at all, apart from any emails you send us.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. For any privacy question, see our contact page.
