Hide private details before you share
Screenshots and photos often show more than we notice: names, email addresses, bank details, faces of children, house numbers or car number plates. Draw a box over each one and choose how to hide it.
Pixelate turns the area into large squares. Black box covers it completely. Blur makes it soft. For text such as passwords or card numbers, use Black box or strong Pixelate: light blur can sometimes be reversed.
How to draw and change areas
Drag on an empty part of the picture to draw a new area. Drag an area to move it, pull its corners to change its size, and tap its × to remove it. With a keyboard, Tab to an area, move it with the arrow keys and remove it with Delete.
Choose Whole image to blur or pixelate the full picture, for example for a background.
Safe by design
The hidden parts are changed in the pixels of the new picture, not placed on top as a layer, so they cannot be removed later. Location and camera details are not copied into the new file either.
Questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Your images are opened and changed inside your browser. They never leave your device.
Can someone undo the blur?
Black box cannot be undone, and strong pixelation removes the detail. Light blur on text can sometimes be guessed, so use Black box for passwords, card numbers and similar text.
Can I use the same areas on many screenshots?
Yes. Draw the areas on one image and tap "Same areas for all images". This works well for screenshots of the same app.
Is the original changed?
No. You download a new copy. Your original file stays as it was.
