    What is a HEIC file?

HEIC is the photo format iPhones and iPads have used by default since iOS 11 in 2017. It stores a photo in a smaller file than JPG, often about half the size, at a similar quality. That saves space on your phone.

The problem is that many apps and websites still cannot open HEIC. Older Windows computers, some photo printers, online forms and many editing apps expect JPG. Converting to JPG makes your photos open almost anywhere.

How to convert HEIC to JPG without uploading

Drop your HEIC photos into the box above or tap Choose files. You can add up to 50 photos at once. Pick a quality: 90% keeps your photos looking the same as the original. Then press Convert to JPG and download your photos one by one, or all together as a ZIP file.

Your photos are converted by your own browser. They are never uploaded, so private pictures stay private. The JPG is saved without the GPS position and other hidden details that phones store inside each photo, which is useful before you share pictures online.

When you need JPG instead of HEIC

Common reasons are sending photos to someone with a Windows PC or an Android phone, uploading pictures to a job, visa or school form that only accepts JPG, printing at a photo kiosk, or editing in an older program.

If you convert often, you can also set your iPhone to share JPG automatically: go to Settings > Photos and, under "Transfer to Mac or PC", choose Automatic. Photos you copy to a computer by cable are then converted for you. For everything else, this tool does the job in seconds.

    Questions

    Are my files uploaded?

No. The tool runs inside your browser, so your files are opened and converted on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.

    Will my photos lose quality?

JPG uses compression, so some detail is always lost, but at 90% quality the difference is very hard to see. Choose a lower quality only if you need smaller files.

Can I convert many photos at once?

Yes. Add up to 50 photos at a time, up to 500 MB each, and download them together as one ZIP file.

Why does my iPhone save photos as HEIC?

HEIC files are smaller than JPG at a similar quality, so your phone can store more photos. If you prefer JPG, go to Settings > Camera > Formats on your iPhone and choose Most Compatible.

Does it work on Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone?

The tool runs in a modern web browser on any of these. Nothing needs to be installed.

    Is it free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up and no watermark.
