    Why convert PNG to JPG?

PNG is great for screenshots, logos and pictures with sharp edges, because it keeps every pixel exactly. But for photos, PNG files can be very large. JPG uses smart compression that makes photos much smaller, which is better for email, websites and upload forms with a size limit.

One thing to know: JPG has no transparency. If your PNG has see-through areas, they are filled with a solid colour. You can choose white or black in the settings.

    How to use this converter

Add your PNG images, set the quality and the background colour, and press Convert to JPG. A quality of 80–90% is a good balance between size and sharpness for most photos.

Everything happens on your device. Your images are not uploaded, so you can safely convert screenshots that show private messages, documents or account details.

Good uses for PNG to JPG

Photos exported as PNG from editing apps, screenshots of photos, and images you want to send by email or post online are all good candidates. A large PNG photo can often become a JPG that is many times smaller, with no visible change.

Keep the original PNG if you might edit the image again later. JPG loses a little detail each time it is saved, while PNG does not. For logos, icons and screenshots of text, PNG is usually the better format to keep.

    Questions

    Are my files uploaded?

No. The tool runs inside your browser, so your files are opened and converted on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.

    What happens to transparent areas?

JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose: white or black.

    Which quality should I pick?

For photos, 80–90% looks the same as the original to most people and makes a much smaller file. Use a higher value for images with fine text.

Should I convert logos and screenshots to JPG?

Usually not. Images with sharp edges and few colours often look better and can even be smaller as PNG. JPG is best for photos.

How many images can I convert?

Up to 50 images at a time, up to 500 MB each. Download them one by one or as a ZIP file.
