Shrink a PDF to a target size
With a target size, the converter tries stronger compression levels one by one until the PDF fits. It only makes images inside the PDF smaller; text, fonts and drawings stay sharp. If a PDF has few images, it may not be able to reach a very small size, and the row tells you the smallest size possible.
Private, unlike most PDF websites
Contracts, bank statements and medical letters should not be uploaded to a stranger's server. Here the work happens in your browser with well-known open-source PDF libraries, and your files never leave your device.
Questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. The tool runs inside your browser, so your PDFs and images are opened and processed on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
Can I convert a scanned PDF to text?
Text can only be taken from PDFs that contain real text. Scans are pictures of text and need OCR, which is not available yet.
How does the target size work?
The PDF is compressed at stronger and stronger levels until it fits. Only images are made smaller; text stays sharp.
What happens to password-protected PDFs?
PDFs that need a password to open cannot be converted. Remove the password in your PDF reader first.
Can I combine many images into one PDF?
This converter makes one PDF per image. To combine images, use JPG to PDF.
