How it works
Open the PDF
Choose the document that needs page numbers.
Set the numbering style
Choose the first number, position and which pages to number.
Save the numbered copy
Check that the numbers avoid important content, then download the PDF.
Numbers in the style you need
Choose where the numbers go and how they look: a plain 1, Page 1, Page 1 of 10, or 1 / 10. Start from any number, for example to continue numbering from another document, and skip the cover page if you like.
The numbers are added on top of each page; nothing else in the document changes.
Private
The numbers are added in your browser with the open-source pdf-lib library. Your PDF is never uploaded.
Questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. The tool runs inside your browser, so your documents are opened and processed on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
Can I skip the cover page?
Yes. Turn on "Skip the first page". Numbering then starts on page 2 with your first number.
Can I start from another number?
Yes. Set First number, for example 15.
Is it free?
Yes. Free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits.
