Why private PDF tools matter

PDFs often hold the most private papers we have: contracts, payslips, tax forms, medical letters and copies of ID cards. When you use a typical online PDF tool, a copy of that file goes to a server you do not control, even if only for a short time.

Questions

Is it safe to edit PDFs online?

It depends on the tool. Many online PDF tools upload your file to a server. OnDevice PDF tools work inside your browser instead, so your document is never uploaded.

What is the file size limit?

Up to 500 MB per PDF. Very large files need more memory, so on a phone it can help to work with smaller files.

Do password-protected PDFs work?

Most tools need a PDF that opens without a password. If you know the password, remove it first with Remove PDF password; it stays on your device.

Will my PDF lose quality?

Merging and splitting copy pages as they are. Compressing makes images in the PDF smaller, and you choose how strong it is.

Is there a watermark?

No. There are no watermarks, no sign-up and no limits on how often you use the tools.
