Use {name} for the old name, {n} for a number, {date} for the file date and {ext} for the type. Example: holiday-{n}
How it works
Add your files
Drop in up to 500 files of any type, or tap Choose files. Drag them into the order you want them numbered.
Set the new names
Type a pattern like holiday-{n}, or find and replace part of the names. The table shows every new name as you type.
Download
Tap Rename files and download them all as one ZIP, or one by one.
Rename many files with a pattern
Type the new name with placeholders: {name} is the old name, {n} is a number that counts up, {date} is the date the file was last changed (like 2024-05-31) and {ext} is the file type. For example, trip-{date}-{n} turns IMG_4412.jpg into trip-2024-05-31-01.jpg.
Find and replace changes part of every name, for example IMG_ into photo-. You can also make all letters lowercase and replace spaces with dashes, which is useful for web files.
How the files are saved
Browsers cannot rename files directly in your folders, so you download renamed copies: all of them in one ZIP file, or each one on its own. The contents of the files are not changed at all.
If two files would get the same name, a number is added, like report (2).pdf, so nothing is overwritten. The file type at the end is always kept.
Questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. The files stay in your browser. Renaming and the ZIP are done on your device.
Are the files changed?
No. Only the names change. The contents are copied exactly as they are.
Can I choose the order of the numbers?
Yes. Drag the files in the list, or use the arrow buttons, and the numbers follow the new order.
Is there a size limit?
You can add up to 500 files. Very large ZIP files need enough free memory on your device, so for many big videos, download them in smaller groups.
