Grain with character
Digital photos can look sterile; a veil of film grain adds tooth, mood and an analog soul. Night scenes gain cinema grit, portraits gain magazine texture, and flat skies gain life.
The default of 30% whispers; 60% and above shouts. The seed locks the pattern, so the same seed and amount always rebuild the identical grain.
Grain without regret
Grain is baked into the pixels and cannot be removed later, so keep your original safe. Test on one image first, note the seed you love, then batch the rest.
Heavy grain fights JPEG compression, so prefer PNG or high quality for grainy finals. Small amounts also hide banding left by gradients and posterizing.
Noise made next door
Random pixels are sown by a deterministic generator running locally on your device. Repeatable, private randomness: the same seed regrows the same field of grain every time.
No image data funds anyone's training set here. Your photos fertilize nothing but your own creativity, and every stalk of grain stays in your field.

Are my images uploaded when I use this?
No. Everything runs inside your browser on your own device. Your files are never sent to us or to anyone else.
What does the seed do?
It locks the random pattern: the same seed with the same amount always produces identical grain, so you can reapply a favorite texture exactly.
Can the grain be removed later?
No. Grain becomes part of the pixels, so keep your original file safe and treat the noisy copy as the final artwork.
