    How it works

    1. Add your images

Choose GIF images for gif-to-webp on your device.

    2. Set the quality

Move the quality slider to balance sharpness and file size, then check the preview.

    3. Convert and download

Save your WEBP results individually or download the converted images together as a ZIP.

    Why convert GIF to WEBP?

WebP stills are noticeably smaller than PNG at the same visible quality, which makes them great for websites, blogs and online shops. Converting GIF frames to WebP gives you modern, lightweight images of any moment in the animation.

The animation does not carry over — each frame becomes its own still WebP file. Very old browsers and programs may not open WebP, so check your target app before converting a large batch.

    Convert privately on your device

Add your GIF images, set the quality, press Convert to WEBP, and download the finished files. Your files are processed in memory on your device and never placed into an upload queue.

Convert up to 10 GIF files at once (100 MB each, frames included — every frame of an animation becomes its own still) and download each WEBP separately or grab them all as one ZIP. The live preview turns your GIF into WEBP on screen before anything is saved, so you can confirm quality and transparency.

Good to know before you convert GIF to WEBP

A quality around 85–90% is a good balance for most frames. Lower it toward 70% when file size matters more than fine detail, such as thumbnails and previews.

Each animation keeps its file name, with numbered endings such as -1 and -2 for its frames, so WEBP stills stay matched to their source. Keep the original GIF files until you have checked the WEBP results — reconverting with different settings is free and private.

    Questions

    Are my files uploaded?

No. The tool runs inside your browser, so your files are opened and converted on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.

    Do all GIF frames convert?

Yes. Every frame becomes its own still WebP image, numbered in order, so you can reuse any moment of the animation on the web.

    Which quality should I choose?

Start at 90%. Lower it toward 70% when file size matters more than fine detail, for example for thumbnails. WebP stays sharp even at modest settings.

    Is it free?

Yes. Free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits.
