    How it works

    1. Add your images

Choose GIF images for gif-to-bmp on your device.

    2. Nothing to set up

There are no settings — check the preview, then convert.

    3. Convert and download

Save your BMP results individually or download the converted images together as a ZIP.

    Why convert GIF to BMP?

BMP is an uncompressed format that almost every program on Windows can open, including very old ones. Converting GIF frames to BMP gives you plain, dependency-free stills for software that accepts nothing newer.

Because BMP stores every pixel without compression, the files are large — often many times bigger than the GIF. The animation is also lost, since each frame becomes a separate still picture.

    Convert privately on your device

Add your GIF images, press Convert to BMP, and download the finished files. No servers are involved at any point: each frame is decoded and re-encoded inside your browser tab.

Convert up to 10 GIF files at once (100 MB each, frames included — every frame of an animation becomes its own still) and download each BMP separately or grab them all as one ZIP. The live preview turns your GIF into BMP on screen before anything is saved, so you can confirm the bitmap looks right.

Good to know before you convert GIF to BMP

BMP suits short-term uses like importing a still into an older editor or a specialised tool. For sharing or archiving, PNG or JPG will give you far smaller files.

Each animation keeps its file name, with numbered endings such as -1 and -2 for its frames, so BMP stills stay matched to their source. Keep the original GIF files until you have checked the BMP results — reconverting with different settings is free and private.

    Questions

    Are my files uploaded?

No. The tool runs inside your browser, so your files are opened and converted on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.

    Do all GIF frames convert?

Yes. Each frame of the animation is saved as its own BMP still, numbered in order, so no moment of the GIF is left out.

Why are BMP files so large?

BMP keeps every pixel exactly with no compression at all, so files grow quickly with image size. That is normal for this format.

    Is it free?

Yes. Free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits.
