Notes that live in the pixels
Annotation burns your words directly into the picture at one of nine positions, so the note travels with the file wherever it goes: messengers, slides, prints and archives all show it without needing special software. Text scales with the shorter image side, which means the same size setting looks equally balanced on a phone screenshot and a twenty-megapixel panorama. Up to five lines are supported, so short multi-line remarks fit comfortably.
The optional dark pill places a soft rounded backdrop behind the words, keeping white text legible even over skies, snow and sunlit walls. Turn it off for a clean bare-text look on dark photos, or recolour the text itself to match your brand, your slides or the mood of the scene.
Labelling batches without an editor
Because the same note, position and style apply to every file you add, annotation is perfect for stamping a whole folder: draft numbers across design iterations, dates across site-survey photos, or names across a team headshot series. Nobody needs to open a graphics program or learn layers; type once and every image comes back marked identically.
Very large photos are scaled to fit within 4096 pixels before the note is drawn, and the result row mentions it. The note is rendered crisply at the final resolution, then everything is saved in your chosen format and quality.
Marginalia with maximum discretion
Notes often flag exactly what is sensitive in a picture, so it would be perverse to upload them for processing. This annotator draws every letter on your own device inside the browser, meaning neither your photos nor your words ever traverse the network or rest on a remote disk.
There are no accounts to link annotations to you and no watermarks added beyond the note you wrote yourself. Fresh output files also shed hidden location metadata, so annotated copies share cleanly.
Questions
Are annotated photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Your photos and your note text are processed inside your browser and never leave your device.
Can the note have several lines?
Yes. Line breaks are kept, up to five lines, all drawn at the same position with the same style.
What does the dark pill do?
It draws a soft dark rounded backdrop behind the text so light-coloured words stay readable over bright areas.
Is it free?
Yes. Free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits.
