    How it works

    1. Add your images

Choose GIF images for gif-to-png on your device.

    2. Nothing to set up

There are no settings — check the preview, then convert.

    3. Convert and download

Save your PNG results individually or download the converted images together as a ZIP.

    Why convert GIF to PNG?

GIF pictures are limited to 256 colours, which can make gradients and photos look banded. PNG stores millions of colours without any loss, so converting still frames from a GIF gives you clean images that are ideal for editing, printing or placing into documents.

Only still pictures come out — the animation itself cannot be stored in a PNG. If your GIF has several frames, every frame is saved as its own PNG file, so nothing is skipped.

    Convert privately on your device

Add your GIF images, press Convert to PNG, and download the finished files. Because the conversion runs entirely in your browser, your animations are never transmitted anywhere — they stay on your own hardware from start to finish.

Convert up to 10 GIF files at once (100 MB each, frames included — every frame of an animation becomes its own still) and download each PNG separately or grab them all as one ZIP. The live preview turns your GIF into PNG on screen before anything is saved, so you can confirm transparency survived.

Good to know before you convert GIF to PNG

PNG files are larger than the original GIF because they keep far more colour detail. If you only need one moment from the animation, convert the whole file and keep the frame you like best.

Each animation keeps its file name, with numbered endings such as -1 and -2 for its frames, so PNG stills stay matched to their source. Keep the original GIF files until you have checked the PNG results — reconverting with different settings is free and private.

    Questions

    Are my files uploaded?

No. The tool runs inside your browser, so your files are opened and converted on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.

    Do all GIF frames convert?

Yes. Every frame of the animation becomes its own still PNG, numbered in order, so you can pick the exact moment you want to keep.

Why is the PNG bigger than my GIF?

A GIF holds at most 256 colours while PNG keeps millions, so the same picture needs more bytes. That extra detail is what makes PNG better for editing and printing.

    Is it free?

Yes. Free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits.
