Inspect the magenta mask
Magenta means fully transparent; blended pink edges mean soft alpha.

Magenta never lies about transparency
White backgrounds hide transparency completely, which is why logos that looked fine on screen print with missing chunks or vanish against coloured web themes. This auditor repaints every fully transparent pixel as opaque hot magenta and blends every semi-transparent edge pixel over magenta, so holes, stray pinholes and feathered rims blaze unmistakably against real artwork. What stays unpainted is genuinely opaque, giving you a trustworthy map of exactly what printers, cutters and game engines will treat as empty versus inked.
The distinction between fully clear and feathered matters because cutters follow hard alpha while printers halftone soft alpha into speckles. Solid magenta blocks flag accidental eraser punches, forgotten backdrop removal and cropped artboards that need patching. Pinkish blended fringes around text and hair are usually intentional anti-aliasing, but wide pink bands warn of over-feathered keys that will halo on dark layouts. Use the proof to decide whether to refill, tighten tolerance upstream or accept the softness for web use.
Catch alpha surprises before they cost money
Die-cut stickers, foil seals, embroidery patches and laser engraving all read alpha literally, cutting or skipping wherever pixels are clear. A single transparent pinhole inside a badge becomes a real hole in vinyl, and a forgotten transparent margin shifts centring on business cards. Auditing with magenta takes seconds and prevents reprint fees, missed deadlines and batches of unusable packaging that looked perfect in viewers which silently composite transparency over white without ever warning the designer about underlying emptiness.
Web teams benefit too, because hero PNGs with invisible margins push layout spacing off and lazy-load placeholders flicker when alpha differs from expectations. Compare the magenta proof against the intended silhouette, trim or refill in your editor, then re-audit until only deliberate holes remain. Keep the magenta export as delivery documentation alongside the clean master, so printers and developers can see you verified alpha rather than assuming white equals opaque in every downstream renderer.
Alpha audits with eyes only on your screen
Unreleased artwork must not circulate merely to check its own transparency, hence this inspection renders wholly within your browser sandbox. Online proofers commonly generate share links and retain thumbnails on content networks, yet here pixel-alpha scanning plus magenta compositing happens in volatile tab memory with zero egress, so concepts, trademarks and personal portraits stay confined to hardware you physically possess throughout the entire diagnostic pass from import to export.
There is no upload, no account and no retention window: open View transparent regions when quality control calls, scan up to ten images, download magenta proofs and close the tab. Only interface code persists for offline launches, never your pixels. Re-run after each fix from the untouched masters until magenta appears exactly where design intent says empty should live and nowhere else.
Questions
Are audit images uploaded to a server?
No. The magenta mask is drawn locally in your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
Is it free?
Yes. Free to use with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits.
What does magenta mean?
Solid magenta marks fully transparent pixels. Pinkish blends mark semi-transparent edges. Unpainted areas are fully opaque.
Why do white areas turn magenta?
Those whites were actually transparent holes that viewers showed as white. Fill them with Add image background or patch them in an editor.
