How Pig Latin works
Pig Latin is a classic English word game: words that start with a vowel get “way” on the end, so “apple” becomes “appleway”, while words that start with consonants move the whole opening cluster to the back and add “ay”, so “hello” becomes “ellohay” and “queen” becomes “eenquay”. The letter y counts as a vowel when it is not the first letter, which keeps words like “rhythm” playable.
Punctuation, numbers, spaces and line breaks stay exactly where they were, so whole paragraphs translate without losing their shape. Apostrophes inside words are kept too, so “don't” becomes “on'tday” rather than breaking into pieces.
Capitals that match your input
With capital matching on, the translation copies the style of each word: ALL-CAPS words stay all caps, capitalised words stay capitalised, and the rest stay small. That keeps names, headings and shouting readable after translation instead of flattening everything to lowercase.
Turn the switch off for party games and puzzles where uniform lowercase reads better, such as long passages of hidden-message text. Either way the Pig Latin rules are identical; only the capitalisation changes, so you can flip the switch and compare both looks instantly.
Private by design
Jokes, invitations and secret notes are personal even when they are playful, and pasting them into a random website sends them to a server you cannot see. This translator applies the Pig Latin rules inside your own browser, so your messages are never uploaded, logged or stored anywhere else.
There is no account, no queue and no expiry: open the Pig Latin translator when fun is needed, translate, copy or download the TXT file and close the tab. Your browser cache only keeps the app itself for offline use, never your words.
Questions
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Translation happens inside your browser. Your text never leaves your device.
How are words starting with vowels handled?
They simply gain “way”: apple becomes appleway and open becomes openway.
What about qu and y?
The qu pair moves together (queen becomes eenquay) and y counts as a vowel unless it starts the word.
Is it free?
Yes. Translate as much text as you like, free, with no sign-up and no daily limits.
