What gets stripped
HTML stripping removes tags such as paragraphs, headings, links, bold and lists, turning block elements into line breaks and decoding entities like & into &. Link and image addresses are dropped while their visible text is kept, so articles paste cleanly.
Markdown stripping removes headings, bold, italic, strikethrough, code marks, quotes, list bullets, tables pipes and horizontal rules, while keeping link text and alt text. Extra spaces are collapsed and blank lines tidied so the plain text reads naturally.
Cleaning web and chat copies
Use it for text copied from web pages, docs, chats and AI answers that arrives full of marks and symbols. Strip both HTML and Markdown for the cleanest result, or leave one on when your source mixes formats and you want to inspect each pass.
The summary shows how many characters were removed. Paste the plain text into emails, forms and code where formatting would otherwise break the layout or leak hidden markup.
Private by design
Stripping runs entirely in your browser with no server, queue or account. Copied pages, messages and private notes never leave your device and disappear when you close the tab.

No. Formatting is stripped inside your browser. Your text never leaves your device.
Does it keep link addresses?
No. Link and image URLs are removed and only the visible text is kept, which is what most plain-text pastes need.
Can I strip only HTML but keep Markdown?
Yes. Turn off Strip Markdown and only HTML tags and entities are cleaned, leaving marks like **bold** untouched.
Is it free?
