    Settings

No settings needed. Each image becomes a triple-width PNG with H, S and I panels side by side.

    Nothing is uploaded

    How it works

    1. Add your images

Choose JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF or HEIC images to split into HSI panels.

    2. View the HSI strip

Each photo becomes one wide PNG with hue, saturation and intensity grayscale panels joined together.

    3. Download the strips

Save each strip PNG on its own or download all strips together as a ZIP.

What the H, S and I panels show

The left panel shows hue angle around the colour wheel, the middle shows saturation from grey to pure colour, and the right shows intensity as simple average brightness of red, green and blue.

A yellow sun is bright in intensity and saturation with a hue near one sixth of the wheel, while a grey road is dark in saturation and mid-grey in intensity. Intensity is the simplest brightness of the three systems.

    How to read the strip

Add one or more images and the tool builds a wide PNG joining the hue, saturation and intensity panels side by side. The result keeps full resolution, so textures and fine edges stay comparable across panels.

Images stay on your device from open to download, with no remote copy. Closing the tab clears the working pixels from this page.

    When an HSI view helps

Use HSI in lessons about human colour vision, because intensity matches a simple average rather than a screen curve. It makes the maths behind hue and saturation easier to explain to beginners.

For video compression checks use Show YCbCr channels, which matches how JPEG stores brightness. Download the HSI strip PNG on its own, or convert a batch and collect everything in one ZIP.

    Questions

    Are my images uploaded?

No. Your images are opened and split inside your browser. They never leave your device.

    What is intensity in HSI?

Intensity is the average of red, green and blue brightness. It is a simple brightness measure without perceptual weighting.

How is HSI different from HSL and HSV?

All three share hue and saturation, but brightness differs: intensity is an average, lightness is perceptual, and value keeps vivid colours bright.

    Is it free?

Yes. Free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits.
