    How it works

    1. Add your images

Choose BMP images for bmp-to-webp on your device.

    2. Set the quality

Move the quality slider to balance sharpness and file size, then check the preview.

    3. Convert and download

Save your WEBP results individually or download the converted images together as a ZIP.

    Why convert BMP to WEBP?

WebP compresses photos far better than the raw pixels of BMP, shrinking huge bitmaps to a fraction of their size. It is the ideal format for putting former BMP images on a website.

WebP uses lossy compression at the quality you choose, so microscopic detail may change. Keep a lossless copy if the image is a master you will edit again.

    Convert privately on your device

Add your BMP images, set the quality, press Convert to WEBP, and download the finished files. There is no upload step and no cloud processing — the browser on your device does the entire job.

Convert up to 10 BMP files at once (100 MB each, even large uncompressed bitmaps) and download each WEBP separately or grab them all as one ZIP. The live preview turns your BMP into WEBP on screen before anything is saved, so you can confirm quality and transparency.

Good to know before you convert BMP to WEBP

Quality 85–90% is visually identical to the BMP for most pictures. Drop to around 75% for thumbnails and previews where size matters most.

Each file keeps its original name with a webp ending, so WEBP results stay easy to match with their BMP originals. Keep the original BMP files until you have checked the WEBP results — reconverting with different settings is free and private.

    Questions

    Are my files uploaded?

No. The tool runs inside your browser, so your files are opened and converted on your own device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.

Does each BMP give one WebP?

Yes. Every BMP input produces exactly one WebP image with the same dimensions at the quality you choose.

    Which quality should I choose?

Use 85–90% for pictures people will look at closely, and around 75% for thumbnails. WebP stays sharp even at modest settings.

    Is it free?

Yes. Free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits.
