    How it works

    1. Add your images

Choose one or more image files to weigh in bytes, KB and MB.

    2. Read the sizes

Compare exact bytes with friendly KB and MB values for each file.

    3. Decide what to do

Compress, resize or send as-is now that you know the true weight.

    Why exact file size matters

Email attachments, upload forms, marketplaces and chat apps all enforce size limits, and guessing usually ends in a rejected send at the worst moment. The number your operating system shows can also be rounded, hiding whether a file is just over or just under the limit.

This tool reports the precise byte count alongside readable KB and MB values for every image. With exact figures in front of you, you can decide whether to compress, resize or split the difference before you hit send.

    Private by default: measured locally

File sizes are read from your device's own file records inside your browser, so the images themselves are never opened by anyone else and never travel anywhere. Even confidential scans and personal photos can be weighed with total peace of mind.

There is no account to create and no queue to wait in: open the tool, add up to ten images, note the weights and close the tab. The app shell may stay cached for offline use, but your files and results do not linger anywhere.

When to weigh images and what to do next

Check sizes before attaching photos to email, uploading products to a shop, submitting assignments, or publishing to a site with strict limits. Comparing several candidates side by side also reveals which export settings actually paid off.

If a file is too heavy, run it through Compress image or Resize image until it fits. For dimensions and megapixels too, follow up with Image dimensions afterwards.

    Questions

    Are my files uploaded?

No. Sizes are read inside your browser on your own device. Your images are never sent to us or to anyone else.

    Is it free?

Yes. Free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits.

Why do KB and MB differ from my computer's numbers?

Systems round differently: some use 1000 bytes per KB, others 1024. We show exact bytes plus both friendly units, so use the byte count when a limit is strict.

    Does image size affect quality?

Not directly. File size reflects compression and dimensions, while visible quality depends on those plus the format. A small WebP can look better than a large JPEG.
