Numbers written out in full
Cheques, contracts, invitations and children's worksheets often need numbers as words: 42 becomes forty-two, and 1,250.75 becomes one thousand two hundred fifty point seven five. This converter finds every number in your text, including negatives and decimals, and spells each one out in plain English while leaving the surrounding words untouched.
Thousands separators such as the comma in 1,000 are understood, and decimal digits are read one by one after the word point, which matches how amounts are normally dictated. Numbers larger than nine hundred ninety-nine million are left exactly as they are so nothing is guessed or mangled.
Letter case for every occasion
Lowercase fits numbers inside normal sentences, where forty-two reads naturally mid-sentence. Title Case capitalises each word, giving Forty-Two for headings, certificates and formal invitations where a grander look is wanted.
Uppercase turns the words into FORTY-TWO for cheques, legal forms and labels that must be read at a glance. Switching case never touches the rest of your text, only the freshly spelled numbers, so you can re-run the same text in a new style at any time.
Private by design
Amounts and figures are sensitive: invoices, salaries and account details should not travel to a stranger's server just to spell a number. This converter does all of its arithmetic and word-building inside your own browser, so your financial text is never uploaded, logged or stored anywhere else.

Numbers above 999,999,999 are kept as digits so the tool never guesses at scales it does not spell.
