A private SEO audit, from one page to a whole sitemap

Most SEO checkers send a URL to a server, crawl it remotely and keep the results. This checker fetches only the URL content you ask for, then performs the analysis and PDF generation in your browser. Server-assisted URL fetching is optional and clearly labelled; uploads and pasted HTML stay on your device. You can audit a saved page, a page on the same domain, or a whole sitemap, and export a report that is branded like the rest of OnDevice Tools.

    What the audit covers

    • Crawlability and indexability: robots directives, canonicals, meta refresh, URL structure and blocking issues.
    • Title, meta and SERP appearance: title and description quality, keyword placement and character encoding.
    • Content: headings, content depth, readability, keyword density, freshness, authorship and trust links.
    • Links and images: anchor text, empty or JavaScript-only links, alt text, dimensions, lazy loading and responsive formats.
    • Structured data and social: JSON-LD validity, required properties, Open Graph and X/Twitter cards.
    • Mobile, security and internationalisation: viewport, labels, HTTPS, mixed content, hreflang and language markup.
    • Performance best practices: render-blocking resources, DOM size, third-party assets and image delivery.

Choose a page or a sitemap

Paste the page source or open a saved HTML file for a single-page audit. In site mode, tick “Detect sitemap automatically” and enter the website URL. Use server-assisted fetching for another domain. The checker reads robots.txt, finds common sitemap locations and expands sitemap indexes recursively, including nested child sitemaps. You can also upload sitemap XML files, paste XML, or paste a plain URL list.

The URL picker shows every discovered URL in pages. Search, filter, select all, select filtered, select a page or tick individual URLs. Batch checks work on the same domain, or on another domain with server-assisted fetching enabled; otherwise upload the HTML or use the URL list for planning.

    What the report includes

The PDF uses the OnDevice Tools palette, logo and typefaces. A page report has a cover, executive summary, category scores, prioritised fixes, evidence, page data, heading outline, image and link tables, structured data, social metadata, keyword analysis and a methodology section. A site report adds the sitemap health summary, site-wide issue counts, a complete URL results table and compact summaries of the lowest-scoring pages.

Every issue explains what was found, why it matters and how to fix it. Blocking problems such as noindex or a canonical pointing to a different URL are called out separately and cap the headline score.

    What the score means

The score is a weighted average of measured categories. Passes earn full points, warnings earn half and failures earn none. Checks that a static HTML audit cannot see — field Core Web Vitals, backlinks, rankings, broken external links and a site-wide crawl — are shown as not measured or as a manual checklist. The result is a practical guide for improving a page, not a promise of rankings.

    Questions

Is my page or sitemap uploaded?

No files are uploaded. For another domain, the optional server-assisted fetch retrieves the sitemap or page HTML and returns it to your browser; it is not stored. The analysis and PDF are generated on your device. Turn the option off to keep the fetch on-device too.

Can I audit a live sitemap?

If the checker is hosted on the same domain, it reads robots.txt, discovers the sitemap and checks selected pages directly. For another domain, turn on server-assisted fetching: our server retrieves the URL content and returns it to your browser. You can also upload the sitemap XML, paste the XML or URL list, or paste page HTML.

    Is this Google's SEO score?

No. Google does not provide a single SEO score. This is a transparent OnDevice Tools rubric covering crawlability, metadata, content, links, images, structured data, mobile basics, security, internationalisation and performance best practices. It is guidance, not a ranking guarantee.

    What does the audit check?

It checks indexability and canonicals, title and meta description quality, headings and content depth, keyword placement, internal and external links, image alt text and dimensions, JSON-LD and social cards, viewport and form labels, HTTPS and trust links, hreflang, and performance best practices.

Can I download a branded PDF?

Yes. The single-page report includes a cover, score breakdown, prioritised fixes, page data and methodology. The site report adds a score distribution, site-wide issues, a full URL table and compact summaries of the worst pages. Reports are generated locally and can use A4 or US Letter.
