    How it works

    1. Open a picture

Open a JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP or AVIF file. Every pixel is read at once.

    2. Choose the code length

Keep 8-digit codes with opacity, or switch to plain 6-digit colour codes.

    3. Copy or download

Copy the list into code or palettes, or download it as a text file.

    Reading hex colours

Every pixel becomes one line such as #FF0000 for red, #00FF00 for green or #0000FF for blue. With alpha on, each line grows two digits for opacity: #FF000080 is half-transparent red, #FF0000FF is solid red.

Large pictures are sampled down to 512 pixels on the longest side so the list stays usable; the summary tells you when this happens. Shrink the picture yourself first if you need exact full-size codes.

    What the codes mean

Each pair of digits counts one colour channel from 00 (none) to FF (full): the three pairs are red, green and blue. #000000 is black, #FFFFFF is white, and the optional fourth pair is opacity from 00 (invisible) to FF (solid).

The output uses uppercase letters, which every design tool and stylesheet accepts. Paste the codes straight into CSS, design tokens or palette files.

    Codes computed in the tab

The picture is decoded and each pixel is rewritten as hex by this page alone. No copy of your image crosses the network, so client work and personal photos remain entirely yours.

Nothing is stored after you leave. The list lives only in the result box and in whatever file you choose to download.

    Questions

Is my picture uploaded to read it?

No. Decoding and listing happen inside your browser. Your picture never leaves your device.

What is the difference between 6 and 8 digits?

Six digits hold red, green and blue. Eight digits add opacity: 00 is invisible and FF is solid. The alpha switch chooses between them.

Why does a big picture give fewer codes?

Pictures are sampled down to 512 pixels on the longest side so the list stays readable. The summary notes when sampling happened.

    Is it free?
