    How it works

    1. Type text or symbols

Paste plain text to encode, or Wingdings-style symbols to decode.

    2. Choose the direction

Text to symbols encodes A–Z, a–z and 0–9. Symbols to text reverses it.

    3. Copy or download

Copy the result or download it as a TXT file.

    Wingdings-style symbols, reversible by design

This tool maps each letter A to Z, a to z and digit 0 to 9 to a distinct decorative Unicode symbol drawn from the Dingbats and enclosed-number blocks, for example A becomes an aeroplane-like mark and B an envelope-like mark. Because every character has exactly one symbol and vice versa, any message encoded here decodes back to the identical original when you switch direction. Spaces, punctuation and line breaks pass through unchanged so word shapes stay readable.

True Wingdings is a legacy font that swaps glyphs without changing character codes, which breaks copying between computers. Here the symbols are real Unicode characters, so the encoded message copies, pastes and displays on any modern phone or computer without installing a font. Keep a copy of the plain text before sharing, because recipients without this page cannot decode the symbols by eye.

    Fun uses and practical limits

Use it for party invitations, classroom puzzles, escape-room clues, social-media flair and gentle spoiler-hiding where the goal is playful obscurity rather than security. Short phrases decode most reliably, because each symbol stands out clearly at large sizes. Long paragraphs work too, but test them on the target phone or printer first since some older systems render a few Dingbats differently.

This is an encoding toy, not encryption: anyone with the same mapping can reverse it instantly, so never use it for passwords, personal data or anything that must stay secret. For real privacy, use a password manager and proper encryption instead. Symbols outside the A–Z, a–z and 0–9 set are never altered in either direction.

Private by design: translate without uploading

This wingdings translator runs entirely in your browser. Your messages are mapped on your own device with a small built-in table covering letters and digits. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is saved after you close the page, and it works offline after the first visit. Check the live preview before you copy or download the result.

That keeps party surprises, classroom answers and puzzle solutions on your device until you choose to share them. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit, and you can process up to 10 files of 500 MB each in one go. Close the tab when you have finished with sensitive material.

    Questions

    Is my message uploaded anywhere?

No. Encoding and decoding happen inside your browser. Your text and symbols never leave your device.

Will the symbols show on other devices?

Yes, on modern phones and computers. They are standard Unicode Dingbats, not a custom font, so no install is needed.

    Is this real Wingdings?

It is a reversible Wingdings-style mapping using Unicode symbols. True Wingdings needs the legacy font; this version copies anywhere.

    Is it free?

Yes. Free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits.
